Ian Gordon

GM Fleet
NZ Bus

Ian Gordon is General Manager Fleet for NZ Bus and has held this appointment for two years.  He has an extensive background in asset management including Rail Assets Manager for GWRC and Assistant Chief of General Staff Logistics for the NZ Army.  Ian has also held senior roles across central government agencies including General Manager Access and Use, the New Zealand Transport Agency.  

Dom Kalasih

Principal Fleet Adviser
Z Energy

Dom studied mechanical engineering at Canterbury University.  Prior to being Senior Adviser Heavy Vehicle Safety at the Ministry of Transport, he spent nearly a decade at NZTA working on truck size and weight regulation
His roles at Z Energy have included Fleet Manager and Logistics Manager where he applied his passion for heavy vehicle safety management, vehicle productivity and vehicle energy efficiency More recently he has taken a newly established role as Z’s Principal Fleet Advisor where he shares his knowledge with Z’s commercial customers.

Elizabeth Yeaman

General Manager - Transport

Elizabeth first joined EECA in 1996 and has worked in a wide variety of roles covering transport, local government and renewables. She holds a Masters degree in Natural Resource Engineering and prior to joining EECA worked in engineering and fuels consultancy, mainly on transport energy projects in developing countries. Elizabeth is a member of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (NZ).

Margaret McCrone

Research Manager
Freeman Media

Margaret (Margie) heads up the research team at Freeman Media. In her role she is responsible for the premium content on the Energy News and Inside Resources websites, as well as being involved in the development of new and existing Freeman Media products and services, including our maps and events.

Gordon Shaw

Chief Executive Officer

Gordon Shaw is the Chief Executive Officer of Vehicle Inspection New Zealand (VINZ). VINZ is a Key Service Delivery Partner for the NZ Transport Agency. VINZ are independent vehicle inspection specialists providing a wide range of regulatory and non regulatory inspections services including Certificate of Fitness and Warrant of Fitness inspections as well as the inspection and compliance of vehicle imported into New Zealand.

Malcolm Yorston

Technical Services and Membership Manager
Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association (IMVIA)

Malcolm’s role requires him to look after technical inquiries, research standards and vehicle compliance, advise people on technical and human resource issues, and deal with regulations, rules and legal disputes.
Starting in the NZ Post Office as an apprentice mechanic in 1962, Malcolm joined the Ministry of Transport in 1972 as a vehicle testing inspector, moving on to a challenging role of design compliance auditor in 1989 at a time when kiwi standards for seatbelt anchorages were being introduced.

Mark Stockdale

Principal Advsior

Mark joined the AA in late 2005 after spending 9 years as Executive Officer at the Bus & Coach Association. In the last 15 years has gained a wealth of knowledge of transport and motoring issues, legislation, Land Transport Rules, and experience working as a transport lobbyist in Wellington.

Iain McGlinchy

Principal Advisor, Technology and Transport Systems
Ministry of Transport

Iain has been a Principal Adviser in several different teams at the New Zealand Ministry of Transport since 2005. He has been responsible for developing policies on a wide range of transport issues in the environment and road safety area. In particular Iain has led policy work on the introduction of vehicle exhaust emissions standards for both new and used vehicles entering New Zealand. He is recognised as an expert in the New Zealand vehicle fleet and is regularly asked  to speak to groups about the vehicle fleet.

David Buckrell

Principal Policy Advisor
Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment

David Buckrell is a Principal Policy Advisor in the Resource Markets Policy team at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.  David’s recent work at the Ministry has included the review of the Crown Minerals Act and leading the review of the royalty regime for petroleum and minerals.  Prior to joining the Ministry in 2006, David was an oil consultant at a Washington-based consultancy, working out of Paris and focusing on global midstream, refining and marketing issues.
